Baxter Academy Chess Program

Led by Baxter Chess Fellow and National Chess Master, Sudanese Majur Juac has inspired the Baxter Academy chess team to reach unimaginable heights. In its first year - 2024 - the team won the state championships. With your support, our team of seven can now compete in the US Federation State Championships.

Your support will fund participation, room and board, and transportation for the team and their chaperones.

Chess is an extraordinary sport - one of the few where a small team from a small school has the chance to represent Maine. Thank you for considering our aspiring leaders and our Chess Master.
