Empower At-Risk Youth in Honduras: Build a Professional Website for Barrios Orquestados to Transform Lives Through Music!

Hi everyone. My name is José Burgos, I'm a High School teacher, and I am helping this non-profit in Honduras save lives through music!

I am personally so moved by this initiative. Those who know me, would remember that I happily lived in Honduras for 4 years, during which time I learned about this beautiful and life-changing project which aims at bringing opportunities to at-risk youth with free orchestral music education and community cultural engagement, having as core values quality education, social inclusion, social justice, culture and youth advocacy.

Barrios Orquestados Honduras is an independent project born in by Islas Canarias (Spain) and it's being implementes in Honduras in 2018 thanks to the ongoing support of Canarias con Honduras and the ACOES. This initiative transforms lives through music, providing opportunities for youth from vulnerable communities in Tegucigalpa to develop their musical talent and grow in a positive environment, and away from the gangs who attempt to forcefully recruit them. To continue expanding our impact and reaching more people, we need to register our non-profit with the local government and a strong and professional online presence. This is where we need your support!

Our Goal with this Campaign:

We aim to create a professional website and secure corporate domains that reflect the essence and impact of Barrios Orquestados Honduras. This will allow us to connect with local government, more donors, volunteers, and communities, while showcasing the incredible talent of our young musicians to the world and the humbling job that our selfless volunteers do.

We are also in need of funds to pay for government registration fees to officially register our non-profit.

What Do We Want to Achieve?

1. Visibility and Reach: A website will enable us to share our stories, events, and achievements with a global audience.

2. Easy Donations: We will implement a secure and user-friendly system for domestic online donations.

3. Resources and Materials: Centralized Access to open-source sheet music, educational videos, and resources for our students and volunteer teachers.

4. Event Calendar: Up-to-date information on concerts, workshops, and community activities.

5. Talent Showcase: A space to highlight our young musicians and their achievements.
