Empower Ashar's Future in National Security
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashar Baker, and I’m a 15-year-old with a big goal: to attend the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) on National Security and Intelligence in Washington, D.C. This 9-day program will give me hands-on experience in intelligence and security while allowing me to learn from professionals in the field.
I’ve always pushed myself beyond limits—physically, mentally, and academically—because I know that success is earned through discipline, resilience, and hard work.
• At 14, I was the most physically fit in my Sheriff’s Department Explorers Program, competing against 80 others aged 14-17. I graduated in the top 10% and won the PT Achievement Ribbon.
• At Devil Pups, a hardcore Marine leadership program, I developed pneumonia on Day 4 but refused to quit. I finished all 10 days, proving to myself that toughness is about mindset, not just strength.
• I graduated ROP (Leadership Development Program for teens ages 13-15) at the top of my class, leading my peers as Class Sergeant and earning multiple leadership awards.
• I’ve started a college class in 10th grade, work multiple jobs, volunteer with the Sheriff’s Department, and even built my own T-shirt and baking businesses.
These experiences taught me discipline, leadership, and how to push through no matter what. Now, I want to take the next step—learning from national security professionals and preparing for a future career in intelligence.
