Empower Apapa High School with Tech Education
Donation protected
My name is Brianna Hameni, and I am a student who believes that 1) we can all make a difference and 2) together, we can achieve bigger goals. As an American citizen, I have had the privilege of having technology integrated in my education. It allows for personalized learning, smooth collaboration, and increased student engagement. Most importantly, as our world turns more digital, it improves our computer skills and prepares us to meet the demand of universities and future jobs. Seeing how this modern way of learning has positively affected me, I would love for other students around the world to experience the same.
I do realize that there are many children around the world that attend schools that still use old computers and software or even neither. That is why this summer, I plan to help Apapa Senior High School, located in Lagos, Nigeria, create a new computer lab. This high school was established in 1980 to teach children from less privileged families. Today, it serves approximately 1000 students of ages 13-19. 80% of the graduates are unable to go into higher education because they do not have the funds necessary to do so. Technology education will help students who cannot further their education after graduation find jobs or create their own business with their newly acquired computer skills.
Through this Gofundme initiative, I would like to raise $5,000 to donate much needed computer lab equipment and furniture to Apapa Senior High School.
I hope you can contribute to this notable cause by making a donation which will have a positive impact on many young lives for years to come.
I have already saved for and bought my plane ticket to Lagos, Nigeria so that I, myself, can donate this equipment to Apapa Senior High School. While there, I also plan to partner with Zim, a leading carrier in the global container shipping industry, that commited to assist with all my purchases and logistic needs.
Photos and videos will be shared with you at the end of this project. Thank you so much in advance for your generous donation!
