Hi, I’m Chris Elford, a career bartender in Seattle WA. I'm running my first marathon in October, and in doing so I'll be raising money in honor of Chris "Turtle" Patino, my dear departed friend and industry icon. Chris was always working to help others. Even after the devastation of his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2020 he worked with Another Round Another Rally to start a fund to financially assist bartenders who are fighting their own battles with cancer. Which got me to thinking...

The best way to honor those who changed you is to exemplify that change. So I created a goal to raise $100 for every mile I run in the Detroit marathon for the Chris Patino Hero Fund. This money will go directly to help a bartender in need, and what better way to honor our dear friend. In doing this, I hope to honor my friend, and keep his legacy of directly impacting others alive. Will you join me in donating to help a bartender in need? I don't know yet who we will be helping, but they will feel our support in their greatest time of need, and that's all the reason I need to put one foot in front of the other.
