Hi, I'm Sam. I'm 17 years old, and I built an app called Synapse completely by myself — every line of code, every lesson, every quiz question.
Synapse teaches AI literacy in 5 minutes a day. Think Duolingo, but for understanding artificial intelligence. It's live on the App Store right now with 28 courses and over 1,400 questions that take you from "What is AI?" all the way to understanding how the technology reshaping our world actually works.
Here's why this matters to me:
AI is changing everything — jobs, education, healthcare, how we communicate, how we think. But right now, the people who understand it are a tiny fraction of the population. The rest of the world is being left behind, and most of them don't even realize it yet.
I grew up watching people around me get intimidated by technology. Smart, capable people who just never had anyone explain it to them in a way that clicked. I don't think learning AI should require a computer science degree or a $50,000 bootcamp. I think it should be free, fun, and available to everyone — students, parents, teachers, people switching careers, people who are just curious.
That's why I built Synapse. Not for developers. Not for engineers. For everyone else.
What I need help with:
I've built the product. It's real, it's live, and it works. But I'm one person. I don't have a team, investors, or a marketing budget. Every dollar raised goes directly toward:
Keeping the app free and accessible for people who can't afford subscriptions
Creating new courses on the AI topics that matter most right now
Growing the reach so more people discover Synapse — through content, community, and outreach
Server costs and infrastructure to keep the app running and fast
I believe AI literacy is going to be as important as reading and writing within the next decade. The question isn't whether people will need to understand AI — it's whether anyone will meet them where they are and teach them.
That's what I'm trying to do. And I can't do it alone.
Every donation — no matter the size — helps put AI education in someone's hands who wouldn't have had it otherwise.
Thank you for believing in this.
— Sam
