Empower Agha to Fight Flood Damages and Continue His Studies
I am an international student in the United States from a small town in South Asia, I came to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa to have access to the best education possible to the best of my ability.
Ever since I started college I have been working maximum hours allowed for international students by the United States which is 20 hours per week on-campus during the school time (40 hours when school is off) which results in around $1,100 per month while taking 18 credit hours of my majors Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence related courses, I have been working 40 hours per week during summer breaks on-campus which results in $2,200 every month using which I purchase food, housing and pay the remains to Drake University, and am attempting to take summer classes, 12 credit hours to make my college more affordable in the long-term.
I am working on off-campus work authorization with my International Student Services officer at Drake University. I have applied to hundreds of internships and have interviewed for several. My expected graduation date is May 2027. I have 6 more semesters left to go, average anual cost of attending Drake University originally is $63,732, but however, my tuition per academic year is $16,614 due to me winning the presidential scholarship, my cumulative GPA right now stands at 3.34 on a scale of 4, I applied for student loan with a US co-signer and it was pre-approved but denied later on due to lack of credit history of my co-signer.
My family faced unforeseen circumstances due to the record-breaking rainfall from heavy monsoons across Pakistan which left an area the size of Wyoming underwater in August, sweeping away homes and destroying cropland. This flood was the worst in the Pakistan's 75-year history. which damaged my family's sources of income significantly as my dad's crops got completely destroyed, hence are unable to fully fund me as of now unlike they used to be during the first two semesters.
In the past I have been welcomed to Dubai, UAE and Miami, USA to participate in the local hackathons as a student, thanks to their belief in my abilities.
I am living in an off-campus housing to make my accomodations more affordable which are fully funded by myself, this fund raiser is solely dedicated to my tuition and all the funds raised will directly be sent to Drake University and this will help me and will give me the ability to complete my education and make a positive impact in the ever changing field of technology, you can be a part of it by contributing, anything helps.
Thank you so much for your time, your help is greatly appreciated, I will forever be grateful for your kindness as it will shape my future. Have a wonderful day, take care!
