Hi, my name is Samea Zarifi, founder of Srowzarchildren.
“Several provinces across the eastern, central, southern and western regions of Afghanistan have been hit by heavy rains, resulting in flash floods and landslides that have caused the deaths of more than 180 people, displaced at least 8,000 others and damaged at least 3,000 houses.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the provinces of Kunar, Laghman, Logar, Wardak, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Paktia and Parwan have been the hardest hit.”
The Afghan people need our support now more than ever. Currently, 1 in 3 people are hungry and 2 million children are malnourished. With drought, pandemic, and conflict, the food security situation will continue to worsen; and hunger will rise.

The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan is becoming the worst in the world.Poverty, conflict, drought, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic during the government’s transition of power have led to increased hunger, a near-collapse of the health system, and the destruction of family livelihoods — all adding up to threaten mass child starvation. As hunger spreads, health clinics are filling up with malnourished children under 5 with symptoms such as pneumonia, acute diarrhea, and emaciation. We would like to raise funds in the hope of providing emergency food packages to the families in AFGHANISTAN. Prices for foods have increased by nearly 35% and those who were living a day-to-day life with the money they were making are currently struggling with providing food to their families.
An estimated 22.8 million Afghan people, more than half the country’s population, are facing potentially life-threatening levels of food insecurity and malnutrition this year. Half of all children under 5 — around 3.2 million — were expected to suffer from acute malnutrition by the end of 2021. About 1 million are on the brink of starvation.
To the widows who were receiving pension payments are no longer receiving a single cent.
