✨ See below for information about a special event! ✨
The Story. Join us in supporting a brave Afghan mother who has overcome extraordinary hardships to ensure a safer future for herself and her two young daughters. After losing her husband and facing the threat of forced marriage, she made the courageous decision to seek safety. Now in Washington, D.C., she is determined to rebuild her life, learn English, and secure childcare for her daughters, enabling her to work toward independence and a stable future. Your support can make a profound difference in their journey to healing and hope.
The Event. Join us on Sunday, December 22 in downtown DC or online for a night of music from one of the area's hottest DJs, unforgettable food, and a celebration of community support for our most vulnerable. All donors will receive information about this dual in-person and virtual event!
The Partners. We have partnered with AWCHEF, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that has been working in Afghanistan since 2005. AWCHEF employs local community leaders, health professionals, teachers, and other local experts to deliver a message of health, education, and empowerment for women and children. AWCHEF is dedicated to protecting women and children who are fighting to survive following decades of war. The Afghan Women and Children Health and Education Foundation and Jalala Assistance Foundation were founded by the Jalala Family from Kunar, Afghanistan, and are led by a dedicated team in the USA.
