HELP AN HBCU STUDENT ATTEND AFROTECH 25
Donation protected
Hi. I’m Yvonne.
I attended my first AFROTECH in 2023. It was an amazing experience - the attendees, the workshops, volunteering to interview students, the special events, the parties, the host city of Austin, TX during the World Series!
AFROTECH is A TECH conference with a focus on BLACK and BROWN industry folks, yet all are welcome.
While attending a Block Party, I was having a discussion with other attendees, and learned that their employer, like mine, had sponsored their attendance to the conference - conference, parties, workshops, airfare, hotel, food, merch, etc. And this was true for most people attending as you can determine it from the color badge we wore.
So, we have 25,000 - 30,000 attendees for AFROTECH with most sponsored by corporations. I couldn’t help but wonder……HOW MANY YOUNG ADULTS DESERVED TO BE HERE YET COULDN'T AFFORD IT?
From that question is where this fundraising idea came.
I am raising funds to send 1 (ONE) HBCU student, majoring in TECHNOLOGY, to AFROTECH 25, October 27 - 30, 2025.
The fundraising goal will cover round-trip flight, hotel, a student ticket to AFROTECH, food, and merchandise.
Please donate to this cause to give a student an experience that will allow them to network with the tech industry’s finest, meet other students who have a shared interest, and get the opportunity to interview in-person with some of the industry’s top technology companies!
Thanking you in advance for your generous donation.
