I’ve always wanted to be an engineer since I was 10 years old. I even went to a women’s engineering camp in high school. When I was 17 years old I graduated with an associate degree from a college prep school. Recently, I got accepted into a Mechanical Engineering program and just paid the $200 enrollment fee!
Some of you may know, I’ve been through a lot . From extreme domestic violence, to losing a pet, to trying to find freedom in my life while still seeking justice. I’m determined to make a better life for myself.
I cannot share exactly where my school is for fear of my violent ex/stalker finding me again. I do work full time 12 hour days and I still need help with tuition and student fees. The $7000 is for my tuition, student fees, and books that financial aid will not cover. I plan on working full time while being in school full time to cover living expenses for me and my guinea pig among other necessities. I already have my prerequisites completed so schooling would most likely take 2 1/2 years instead of 4 years!
Receiving this degree would open up so many opportunities for me, and put you on a path to financial stability. I am determined to receive my dream education and be apart of that less than 1% of Black women in Mechanical Engineering. I do not have any family, it’s just me and my fur baby!
Thank you angels for existing and supporting me. I am so happy that you’re here.
