Hello! This fundraiser is about a long journey to completing a degree.

I have the opportunity to complete a degree in the spring semester. I’ve been offered an aid package that would cover my tuition, but I still have a budget shortfall for the cost of moving and paying rent out of state. My living expenses would run out mid-semester, and I wouldn’t have any way to return back to Ohio, where I have a lower cost of living.

Completing my degree would put me on track to qualify for the kinds of jobs that will allow me to truly contribute to my community. My earnings have been limited without it.

Much time has passed since I left college—I know this is to my benefit as far as learning and studying goes. I have developed personal and professional skills that will make me a much stronger, more committed student now than when I was in my 20s! My academic goal is to strengthen my rhetorical writing skills and leave school with a strong visual portfolio.

There are many great organizations in Ohio that I would love to work for—like the Metroparks system and strong local arts organizations. Completing a degree would give me the credentials to shift into a more rewarding career and enable me to spend more time producing studio art.
