Empower a Felter: Help us share the Joy of Felting & Travel
Donation protected
In September of 2024, a diverse group of 11 felting craftswomen met in Hungary to experience a new culture whilst developing and strengthening their felting practices. Visits were made to textile related industries, museums, workshops and studios where Hungarian felt artists gave generously of their time, skill and knowledge. All the participants of this tour, created by Flora Carlile-Kovacs, a Seattle based Hungarian felter, were immediately bonded by this wonderful experience and united by a desire to share it with others.
Thus the Hung’ry Bag Project was born. A group creation from our time in Hungary, this bag is now travelling the world to raise money and bring awareness to the value of travel, lifelong learning, and peer-to-peer artistic support. Follow its journey and meet the artists who made her by visiting https://www.facebook.com/groups/888386189866701.
As a group, we are establishing a grant that will provide some financial support for one person to attend the April 2026 Hungary Felting Tour. The grant will be awarded to an applicant who wants to further develop their felting skills through participating in the tour, and who needs some financial assistance in order to go.
Please consider making a donation to fund this trip for a life changing adventure for someone else.
It was such a valuable and joyful experience for all of us and we need your help to share it with someone unable to attain an experience like this on their own! In an ever more polarized world these opportunities help to connect and unite us all.
Any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
Let’s pass it forward!
