My name is Prince, a clinical psychologist, and I first met my friend Abigail through a series of virtual public health seminars she led. From the start, I was struck by her quiet determination and passion for the medical field. Abigail’s dream has always been simple: to be the kind of doctor who shows up for people when they need it most. After earning a government scholarship to study medicine in Russia, she came back home and has spent the last year in the paediatric department of the Regional Hospital in Sunyani. There, she has cared for sick babies, supported families of children with sickle cell disease, and gone the extra mile for patients who had nowhere else to turn. Through long nights, tough cases, and compassion she pours into every child and parent she meets, she has earned the admiration of many.

Now, Abigail has been admitted to the MSc Cardiovascular Science program at Universitätsmedizin Göttingen in Germany. It’s a prestigious program, and incredibly, tuition-free. But before she can attend, she must set up a German block account to cover her living expenses, health insurance, and accommodation. The total is $16,000 USD (≈ $25,000 AUD) for two years, and the deadline is September 15, 2025. Without this, her visa will not be approved. This is a chance for Abigail to grow, to gain advanced skills, and to return to continue the work she’s already doing so selflessly. She doesn’t want riches or recognition, just the tools to be a better doctor for her patients. I’m asking for your help to make this possible.
