Hi we are Garett and Carrie and this is our story

Over the past decade, life has thrown us unimaginable challenges. Ten years ago, I experienced a traumatic incident that left me legally blind and suffering from PTSD. It was a period of immense struggle, and I found myself homeless, living in a tent for four years, both to rebuild my emotional strength and confront my fears.

Eventually, I emerged from that dark chapter and took on the role of caring for my grandfather and father until their passing. It was during this time that I met my husband, who has been my rock for the past six years, supporting me through thick and thin.

Last year, my husband faced his own trial when a workplace accident left him with a severely broken foot. Despite his pain, he continued working and building his own landscape construction business, all while his workers' compensation case has been stuck in legal limbo for nearly a year. We've been renting from his former employer, but now, we face the harsh reality of having to move, and we don't want to end up in a precarious situation again.

In our hearts, we dream of finding a permanent home where we can build a life together. However, the path isn't easy; we've faced roadblocks in securing a loan for a house that would provide stability. The bureaucratic processes are too slow, and we can't afford to be separated by circumstances.

With your support, we hope to raise the funds needed to secure a home quickly. Your contributions will not only give us a place to call our own but also offer a fresh start, free from the shadows of our past. Our goal is to secure funding to purchase a piece of land with a well and electricity infrastructure already in place. This land will cost approximately $24,900. Additionally, we need funds for essential expenses, including electrical and well setup ($5,000), septic system installation ($5,000), and acquiring a used mobile home ($25,000 to $35,000). To make our dream of a stable home a reality, we're aiming to raise 50000 which will cover these costs and help us start this new chapter in our lives.

We're really excited about finding a place to call our own with a little bit of acreage so that we can plant our own crops and live with organic food and try and live a healthy lifestyle in peace. My husband plans to try and keep working as much as he can the time being and maintain his little business. I also have plans to hopefully maybe grow some organic vegetables and sell it farmers markets as my initial small business making custom jewelry has slowed considerably due to the market and me not feeling well off and on for the past few years.

Try to put together the most cost-effective way for us to own our own home in the state of California so as to not be greedy or unrealistic in our attainability of our dream it's pretty unheard of to be able to put a life together for $50,000 here especially on the Central Coast California I've done a lot of research to try and put together something reasonable
