Empower a Child, Transform a Tribe Support Education in Karbi Anglong, India
In 2025, I set out on a journey across India, looking for inspiration, connection, and a deeper way to serve. That search brought me to Karbi Anglong, a remote and forested region in Northeast India, home to the warm and wise Karbi tribes.
The land felt ancient and alive. I began working with local schools, visiting village after village, encouraging children to believe in themselves and their dreams. As a volunteer and motivational speaker, I also taught them simple tools like meditation and yoga ways to calm the mind, develop confidence, and feel joy.
But one trip changed everything.
I had planned a simple one-day journey to a small, little-known village called Mijung. But as I rode deeper into the jungle, my scooter gave out. Night was falling. There was no electricity, no phone signal, and no way to go back.
And just as I began to worry, a woman appeared through the trees — Auntie Kramsa

She smiled, welcomed me without hesitation, and brought me into her mud home, where I stayed not for one day, but four. She cooked over fire, showed me the rhythm of tribal life, and helped me see Mijung not as an outsider, but as a friend. It was humbling, grounding, and one of the most beautiful moments of my life.

In those days, I also came to understand what the children of Mijung are truly facing.
The area is extremely remote, poor, and deeply isolated. Families live in a very organic and self-sufficient way they grow their own food, build their homes by hand, and live close to the land. But the children are growing up with almost no exposure to the outside world. They have never seen a city. They don’t have a reference for what life beyond the village could look like.

Many are pulled out of school by Class 3 or 4. Some are expected to help in the fields. Others are married off at a young age. Education is seen as valuable, but inaccessible. The nearest middle school is 8 kilometers away. High school is 12. Dropout rates are over 90%. In Class 5, there was only one student left.
Even though their parents want more for them, the gap is too wide. The life they imagine from their schoolbooks feels like a dream one they aren’t sure they’re allowed to chase.
That’s why I started this fundraiser to help change that.
We want to provide 30 bicycles for children in Mijung and surrounding villages. These bikes aren’t just for transportation. They are a reason to stay in school. A way to explore further. A symbol of hope.

Each bicycle offers:
– A way to reach education
– A reason to stay motivated
– A chance to dream beyond the village
One bicycle costs around 50 Swiss Francs (or 5,000 INR). Every donation big or small will go directly toward purchasing and distributing the bicycles by mid-July 2025, with full transparency and updates along the way.
You won’t just be giving a bike. You’ll be giving a child a choice. A future. A beginning.
