Hello,
I'm Harriet Rwosa, founder and program facilitator of the Happy Girls Project in Southwest Uganda. Kyla Seipp is a partner and fundraising coordinator in Australia. Our mission is simple but profound: to support the education and well-being of girls and women in our community.
The Challenge We Face:
In Southwest Uganda, many girls face the harsh reality of dropping out of school as young as 9 years old due to a lack of menstrual products. This dire situation exposes them to risks like sexual violence, child marriage, and the perpetuation of poverty.
Our Solution:
At the Happy Girls Project, we tackle these issues head-on. We provide menstrual health education, access to menstrual hygiene products, and promote sustainable hygiene practices. By offering workshops on gender-based violence, we work towards a safer future for our girls and boys, fostering respectful relationships.
Over the past 5 years, we've helped over 1,000 girls stay in school, and this year, our first cohort of girls has made it to college! With the strong support of our community, we are now ready to expand into a social enterprise to extend our impact.
Your Support Matters:
We are building a self-sustaining facility that will not only support our current programs but also enable us to reach even more girls and women. This facility will include a fully equipped kitchen, flush toilets, a bio water filter, solar panels, sewing machines, Wi-Fi, and more!
How Your Donation Helps:
Your contribution will directly fund the purchase of land and the construction of this essential facility. We plan to support ourselves through a range of programs including:
Soap Making
Oyster Mushroom Growing
Beekeeping
Sewing Pads
Tourism Operations
Hosting Volunteers
Craft Shop
Slow Fashion
For every donation over $100, we will honor your generosity by carving your name into the foundation of our building. This will be a lasting tribute to your commitment to creating a brighter, happier future for our community.
For every $20 dollars you donate or Angel of Hope you buy it keeps one girl in school for a year.
Invest in a Stronger Tomorrow:
Expanding educational opportunities for girls isn’t just an act of charity—it’s a smart investment in a stronger global economy and our collective future. Your donation will leave a lasting legacy and make a profound difference in the lives of many.
Thank you for your support and for helping us build a future where every girl has the opportunity to thrive.
Warm regards,
Harriet Rwosa and Kyla Seipp
