Tanglewood employees

Hello, my name is Angie, and I am raising funds on behalf of the Tanglewood staff. On February 15, 2025, our world was entirely upended when the bank officially foreclosed on Tanglewood. That same morning, twenty-three devoted employees arrived to begin their workday, only to be informed that they had to leave the premises immediately. They were told they no longer had jobs and would not receive any severance pay or unemployment benefits. Tragically, these employees had already gone unpaid for weeks leading up to the foreclosure, a period during which they were still expected to work for the Fruit Festival. In the end, they were exploited and left with absolutely nothing. Loren, the owner of Tanglewood, stopped paying the mortgage in the middle of last year and placed the property in a trust. As a result, the bank took possession on February 15. To make matters worse, Loren had not paid employment insurance or other essential benefits since the previous year, leaving my colleagues and me without any safety net. Shortly after the foreclosure, a devastating fire broke out and consumed much of the hotel, reducing it to ashes. The Tanglewood team included many of whom had been faithfully employed for years—some for over a decade. They had mortgages, children, and extended families relying on their steady income. Overnight, they found themselves not only jobless but also without any compensation for the years of service they had dedicated to Tanglewood. In the midst of this turmoil, I managed to rescue four animals that were left vulnerable following the fire and subsequent eviction: Blanquito, Bandida, Ash, and Diablo. I am currently housing them while I work to find them a permanent home where they will receive the care they deserve. I am one of many who are now facing dire circumstances. I am eight months pregnant, a single mother of two, and the head of my household. Without my final paycheck, without proper insurance, and without any severance, I am at risk of losing my home. Like most of my co-workers, I devoted countless hours to Tanglewood, only to be left completely abandoned when hardships arose. I humbly ask for your assistance. The funds raised will go directly to the Tanglewood staff—many of whom urgently need housing, food, and medical care. Your donation, regardless of the amount, will provide essential support to those of us who lost our livelihoods due to the foreclosure and the subsequent fire. A portion of these funds will also help cover the costs of caring for Blanquito, Bandida, Ash, and Diablo until we can find them a safe, permanent home. Please consider making a contribution to help us regain some stability and protect our families. On behalf of all the displaced Tanglewood employees, I am deeply grateful for your generosity and compassion. With your help, we can begin to rebuild our lives and face the challenges that lie ahead.
