My focus is on optimal mental health, conflict resolution,  problem prevention and remediation.

I first started to notice that social and emotional regulation was a problem when I was working as a mental health counselor in a school and a young girl was brought  into the office for saying she wanted to kill herself after getting in trouble by the principle.  After talking with I her I found out she was just angry and over reacted. Again, when I was asked to deescalate a situation where a child stabbed a peer in the hand for tapping his pencil on the desk, and again when I was asked to deescalate a situation where a girl was feeling insecure and took it out on her teacher and was removed from class.

As a social worker over the past twelve years I have witnessed the effects of children who have a mismanaged mind. Many of their tendencies are to numb to prevent feeling the stress or pain of the moment. For some, numbing involved alcohol, drugs, sex, anger outbursts, pornography, excessive video games and excessive social media consumption.

Raising mentally and emotionally healthy children can be a struggle especially when you have tried to fix the problem and nothing has worked. Our teenagers are facing mental stress, isolation, suicide, anxiety, and depression more than ever before!
Satan is blatant about the schemes and attacks to ruin the plan and purpose that God has for their lives

In the perfect world emotional regulation would be a part of a child’s course curriculum. Many adults struggle with a mismanaged mind, emotional dysregulation and subsequently, struggle through the results and impact of this mindset. Imagine what our children are experiencing when the world is full of heartaches and tragedies compounded with the hormonal roller coaster of just being children.

I believe we need an intermediate mental health support service to bridge the gaps in care for people who do not have a mental disorder but have mental health issues. I believe you can have optimal mental health with the proper skills to manage it on your own.

There is a significant difference between struggling with life stressors in which training and coaching can help versus having a persistent mental disorder that needs to be medicated and treated with medication and therapy.

We cannot depend on our schools to provide efficient behavior management tools to our children. It is up to us to equip our children with the tools they need to manage hard times. When children are equipped with social and emotional skills then their academic achievement increases, problem behavior decreases and quality of their relationships improve.

Forming DreamWell Coaching Academy nonprofit is one way to prepare our children for a better future.
