Emmy’s Transition Fund

Hey everyone,
Since coming out as trans, I have paid for nearly all of my own medical expenses--with a little help from friends of course-- which have gone toward hormone replacement therapy appointments and prescriptions.
Now, however, I am looking toward the next step in my medical transition, facial feminization surgery. The most important aspect of FFS for me is electrolysis (a form of permanent hair removal) and laser hair removal, as hormone therapy only softens and thins facial hair rather than eliminates it. I will be receiving ongoing treatments for the next year or so to remove my neck and facial hair.
Multiple treatments amount to a fairly hefty price, which is not covered by my insurance as electrolysis is considered unnecessary cosmetic procedures. To some it may be, but for many trans women like myself facial hair works as a very direct source of dysphoria. To get rid of it would mean to alleviate some of my most intense dysphoria. Additionally, it will help me to feel more euphoric in my day to day presentation.
I only intend to rely on GoFundMe for a small portion of my treatments, but if you help me meet my initial goal, you would help me in a way for which I could never truly thank you.
If you do not feel as though you can support me financially, that's totally okay. If it isn't too much to ask, I would love for you to share this in the hopes someone else might help.
Thank you,
Emmy
