Joan needs help!

Hi my name is Chance Slinger, and I live with my fiancé; Kennedy right next door to the house that caught fire just a couple of days ago on the South side of Des Moines. You may have seen this story on the news but we are currently managing with this awful tragedy firsthand.

Figured I’d share a little back story… Shortly after moving into our home 3 years ago, we were immediately met with our new neighbors, Joan and Todd. They were so kind and gracious to invite us into their home for dinner and to welcome us to the neighborhood! We soon learned that Joan was on disability, and her son Todd was her primary caretaker. In doing so, Todd left his office job at Wells Fargo to work remotely from home see he could take better care of her. Sadly on the night of March 22 their home caught fire… Todd was not able to make it out… Joan just barely made it. As their next-door neighbors, my fiancé was alerted by sirens and quickly realized trouble was ahead. Kennedy helped Joan out of the front door and stayed with Joan all the way through the entire process, including identifying her son after the fire. As you can imagine, she is absolutely devastated. Joan has two lovely dogs (Nigel and Chichi) both dogs were rescued and reunited with her after staying at our place for a few days. Joan is such a sweet lady and is now faced with many challenging obstacles. During the fire, she lost everything. I’m creating this goFundMe account to send 100% of the proceeds to a bank account that Joan has the card to help Joan pick up the pieces of her life. She immediately needs Clothes and medicines replaced along with help planning a funeral. Joan is currently staying with a family that will work temporarily. She does not have much but her heart is gold. I ask you good people of Iowa, and Des Moines, to please help as much as you can!
