My name is Emmaline Fowler; I am ten years old and in the 5th grade, I go to Nelsonville-York Elementary school. I like to play softball and participate in 4-H. I show pigs, rabbits, and goats.
I am greatly honored that my 5th grade social studies teacher nominated me for the Junior National Young Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. The JrNYLC is an educational camp. In D.C, I will get to see the most important monuments and memorials. We will learn about American history and get to spend the night at the Maryland Science Center We will travel to Harpers Ferry and learn about John Brown’s raid to end slavery and the federal troops experiences during the Civil War.
The Voices of Change project is one of the highlights. It is a week long project that places you in a group of peers, and your team makes an organization of social change. This project will teach me about teamwork, communication, working together, and problem solving to change the world. The JrNYLC is a great opportunity, this will be a wonderful experience in my life and help me become a better leader in my community.
I am asking for donations because the cost of tuition to participate is $2,300. Would you like to support me in the adventure?
