Emmett's Leg Amputation Fund
Donation protected
We are raising money to help us pay for an emergency leg amputation for our cat Emmett.
Friday night, June 15th, I came home around dusk to find Emmett injured in the yard. He had a bloody leg and seemed like he was in pain so I took him to the emergency vet. After assessment and x-rays, we realized he had been shot with a .22 rifle, or something similar. The gun shot shattered his leg bone, requiring it to be amputated.
I transported him to an animal hospital in Langley the next day where they were able to successfully remove his back leg. They were wonderful up there. I appreciate the nice animal care folks so much.
Emmett is home now, on antibiotics, pain and anti inflammatory meds. He is as comfortable as he can be- sleeping, snuggling, and purring. He is already getting around pretty well on his 3 legs! We are so lucky that he survived this trauma. He's a special cat.
The doctor was able to save the bullet for us and we are filing a police report. We are horrified to know that our cat was shot in daylight in Bellingham city limits. It is so freaky to know someone was shooting a gun in our Sunnyland neighborhood, right next to Bellingham High School and Assumption Elementary.
Joey and I are asking for your help to offset the cost of saving our kitty cat man. All of the money we raise will help us pay for his medical care.
He means the world to us. Any amount helps! If you want to stop by and give him a snuggle, he'd love that too.
Thanks everyone so much for your support. And stay safe out there.
