Hi everyone, my 2nd mammogram ever in life showed suspicious symptoms. I’ve been on a journey for the last two months to try to get a diagnosis and I officially have lobular carcinoma and I am Her2+. I’m so grateful they caught it early enough to survive but I will have a long recovery process. This type of cancer is called the “sneaky kind” and it did not show up on my genetic testing, even though it runs in my family on my Dad’s side.

Unfortunately, my insurance is through marketplace and I do not have the coverage that I need. I will also have to takeoff work after my double mastectomy and I do not have PTO or sick days or FMLA since I switched to self-employed two years ago. Without having income and also accruing $15,000 of medical debt I feel overwhelmed.

Thank you to so many of you who have reached out and wanted to send me care packages, but I am asking for whatever financial contributions you could offer instead of cards or flowers.

As a single woman living alone, I am trying my best, but the financial stress on top of the medical stress is very taxing.
