Emma Washington's son, Telvin, was murdered on June 25, 2019 in Mississippi. This tragedy struck her family after almost 2 years of trying to heal from the events of August 12, 2017 in Charlottesville. Emma's two daughters were injured in the car crash and the whole family was already reeling from those events.
Emma has traveled to Mississippi from Charlottesville to be present at the trial of her son's killer. She's holding the Sheriff's office accountable so that Telvin won't be "just another young black man dead".
Emma has given up her work here as a hospice nurse until the trial is complete, hopefully in late October. She needs help with expenses in Virginia and Mississippi. Emma is so kind and giving, please support her as she advocates for her son.
