Emma's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Candy. and I'm fund-raising for my beautiful friend Emma Linnea.

Emma has taken the initial step in trying to help herself overcome a disease. Emma has been battling severe alcoholic disease for the past 12 years. The impacts of this have caused Emma social and family problems, inability to work, and serious physical health issues. Emma is 37. 

As many may know, accepting help is not easy, and is only possible when the person is ready to get better.

Emma has taken the first step and accepted she can't beat this alone. 

The options for public rehab in NSW are slim and waitlists are long. A number of patients have been made to go to these facilities involuntarily. This puts people like Emma at risk of being exposed to those that are against recovery and capable of smuggling contraband such as drugs and alcohol into the facility. Emma experienced this during a previous public detox in 2017. 

Time is of the essence, Emma can't go on a waiting list. She needs treatment now,.which leaves the option of private rehab.

The Sydney Retreat is a facility that is founded on the 12 step program, but extends to overall health, wellness and holistic healing. This means, rather than just focusing on alcoholism, it is creating an opportunity for Emma to reframe and restructure her entire life.

The Sydney Retreat costs $10,700AUD for 28 days. They offer a scholarship program to eligible patients however scholarship funds are also limited. We need a little bit more to cover the rest of her stay.

Any little bit you can spare will be helping Emma to recover from a serious life-limiting disease, so she can stick around for her beautiful daughter Freja and get a chance at living the second part of her life free from addiction.
