Hello, my name is Emma Jackson. I will be running the Manchester Marathon in April 2022 in memory of my amazing Mum, Sue Jackson. My Mum was killed in 2020 by a hit-and-run drunk driver. Despite her horrific death, she taught me the beauty of life. I owe everything to her, including life itself, and I will forever be thankful for her.
Losing a loved one is heart-breaking, terribly lonely, and leaves you feeling stagnant. But I found that talking about it helps, one small step at a time. In finding the power of vulnerability, we learn to live again, with gratitude in our hearts. Strength comes from taking small steps every day, until one day, you'll find yourself running a marathon!
Unfortunately, we will all experience loss. To pick yourself up and crack on is tough, but you can do it. My Mum taught me, and I now want to pass her lesson on to those who need it.
I'm raising money in aid of Cruse Bereavement Care and every donation will help. Cruse offer support through a national helpline, live chat, group, zoom, telephone or one-to-one in-person support. Cruse aim to make sure that everyone grieving gets the help they need, in a way that works for them.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
