Meet Emma Rose! She was born on Tuesday, March 5th. I’m her auntie Keeley asking for your help (her parents don’t know I’m doing this). Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the easiest of starts to this princess’s life. When it was time for her 24-hour test, she failed the oxygen test so she was put on 100% oxygen. Emma was then life-flighted from, AZ to the NICU in Flagstaff, AZ. After an echo, the doctors determined she has a heart defect known as TAPVC. All her veins are draining into one side of her heart mixing the oxygenated blood with the nonoxygenated blood. To better deal with this Emma was then life-flighted (again) to the NICU at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona.
To fix the heart defect, Emma is going to need open heart surgery (the scariest news I’ve ever heard in my life). She’s gone through 2 echos, a CT scan, a handful of X-rays, a lot of blood work, and now she’s on a CPAP machine. Unfortunately, this is only the beginning. Not to mention, her mama had a postpartum hemorrhage. Thankfully, mama is doing good now. Adding to the list of problems, her parents and 5-year-old brother live 5 hours away from the children’s hospital. All the lodging resources the hospital can offer are at capacity so her parents have to pay for a hotel room. Long story short, Emma needs your help. My sister and brother-in-law now have a 5 person family with only 2 incomes. I and Emma’s parents will be extremely grateful for any help you can give, even if that’s just $1. Emma has been fighting every hour of every day she’s been alive. However you can help, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
