Emma's fight against Cancer
Donation protected
Some of you maybe aware, that 7 months ago I set up a go fund me, for my beautiful friend Emma. We were overwhelmed with the support that was given, and the money raised helped her out with her rent, bills and food. She had now exhausted all the available help from the government, and has also taken out a bank loan, but now all the resources are gone.
Anyone who lives in Ibiza will know, even with a regular income it is a very expensive place to live, with the average rent 800 euros. When they said initially 2 weeks lockdown who thought it would be more than a year! Having cancer and the treatments that go with it costs money even though the medical treatment is free but extra costs involved eg wig 700e for a professional cancer wig !! Going to hospital for radiotherapy everyday , when you don’t have transport extra supplements creams and potions have all mounted up.
Please read her story.
Emma unfortunately had an accident in 2006, which left her with foot drop syndrome and she is paralysed from the knee down on one leg. She has always continued to work passionately as a teacher, even though she has to take chronic pain medication and most days the pain is unbearable.
Now life has given her another battle, as she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and has started 4 months of intensive chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy.
Covid 19 has been a tough time for many. Especially for Emma, as she is single and has received almost no help from the government. Now with the diagnosis and treatment, she doesn't know when she will be able to return to work. This has added to an already stressful time in her life, when she should be using all of her strength to get better and not have an extra worry about financial difficulties.
Despite this, she is always upbeat and is always making jokes.
Please if you can make even a small donation, it would mean a lot. Please help her to keep that gorgeous smile.
Thank you.
