Emma's Farewell: Support Her Family

My name is Maribel Gonzalez. I’m second to the oldest of the children of Emma Gonzalez. My mother was called to heaven on 5/28/25.

It has been so hard and heartbreaking losing my mother. My mother was hospitalized since April 2025. As her health was improving, we thought she was ready to go home with a little physical therapy twice a week at home. I honestly, and all of us, were happy.

As she was ready to be discharged to go home, mom suffered a massive stroke, so she was transferred to another hospital ICU.

Specialists, due to her condition of a massive stroke, were able to place her in an acute facility for long-term care, which we couldn’t take her from. A few days of being at that facility, my mother was able to make a little progress, which gave us high hopes that in a few months or so she would be home. Well, that was not the case.

Mom passed. I’m so devastated and broken; she is no longer with us.

My father is at an age where he has to keep working. If anything will help, it will go to funeral expenses.

My father, Vidal Gonzalez, is too old-fashioned and doesn’t want to ask, but anything will do.

I’m so sad and broken, I can’t think straight.

I’m trying to be strong for my father and my family. My mother was my best friend, my everything. Anything from your heart will help
