My beautiful viking princess has been attacked by cervical cancer. Raising fund to help with accommodation and travel and day to day life while being displaced from our beautiful home in the Daintree rainforest. We will be stuck in Cairns or Brisbane or Townsville for months and have to be close to hospitals for treatment.

This is an emergency fund in case we get caught short and whatever money we don't use will be donated to cancer research.

So.... Results are in and honestly we were hoping for better news. Cervical cancer as we knew. A 42mm mass on the cervix. But has been upgraded to Stage 3c which means it has most likely (still inconclusively) spread to the lymph nodes near the ovaries. MRI and PET were inconclusive so best option is to treat as if it has happened. Still localised to pelvic area, all other organs look fine so no spread through the systems yet so luckily we seem to have caught it early enough considering the rapid growth rate.

Having only finished IVF 18 months ago we are confident it has only been since then which may or may not be a good thing as that means it's fairly aggressive. So 5 weeks of Radiotherapy and Chemo to look forward to as it is too large and too close to the bladder and urethra to operate surgically. At this stage we will be staying in Cairns but off to Townsville after chemo for a week of Brachytherapy. Were given no promises as doctors can't and shouldn't but the overall feeling was positive. Its all about how Emma's body responds and the love and support we can give so she is in as good a mental space as possible which goes a LOOOOOOONG way in recovery.
