With broken hearts, we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community to ask for your help in laying to rest our beloved father, Emmanuel Chimezie, back home in Nigeria following his heartbreaking passing on October 8, 2024.
Our father was everything to us, a protector, a provider, and a man of extraordinary love and sacrifice. In 2006, he left Nigeria for the UK to care for our late mother as she bravely fought breast cancer. After her passing, he returned to Nigeria, hoping to live a peaceful retirement. Emmanuel was a man who lived for others working long hours in security during the day and cleaning the church hall at night. His strong work ethic was matched only by his deep faith and boundless love for his family and friends. He always taught us to stand tall, work hard, and care for those around us.
Emmanuel wasn’t just our father; he was our rock and our greatest cheerleader. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved. His laughter was contagious, his heart was open to all, and his presence could lift even the heaviest of spirits. He was truly loved by many.
In Nigeria, our father fell seriously ill. We rushed to fly him back to the UK, praying for his recovery while surrounding him with the love and care he had always given us. He fought valiantly, but on October 8, 2024, after months of battling blood cancer, he took his final breath. Our hearts are shattered.
Now, we are determined to honor our father's final wish: to be laid to rest in his homeland, surrounded by his family and in accordance with the traditions he cherished so much. The cost of bringing him home from the UK to Nigeria has exhausted the majority of our funds, so we are asking for help towards giving our father the burial he deserves. His burial is planned for September 4, 2025, in Imo State, Southeastern Nigeria.
We are humbly and desperately asking for your help. This journey is overwhelming, and we cannot do it alone. We know times are hard, but any contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to granting our father's final wish. Your support will help us lay him to rest in the place he always called home, surrounded by the love and dignity he so deeply deserves.
From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your generosity. You are giving us hope and helping us fulfill a promise we made to our father. May God bless you abundantly for walking with us through this difficult journey.
God bless.
Chimezie's family.
