Emmanuel Attend - NYLF Engineering Summer Program

Hello, my name is Emmanuel Salazar-Lira, I am a 9th-grade student at Norwalk High School where I am enrolled in honors classes and taking college courses at Cerritos College as a first-generation college student through our school's dual-enrollment program. I was recently invited to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering at the University of Michigan this summer. This program would be an incredible opportunity as I hope to pursue a career in engineering. This experience would provide me with the tools necessary to continue my education after high school and prepare me for a career in engineering. Attending a university has not only been a dream of my own, but that of my family as well. Participating in a program such as this one would help me be one step closer to achieving this goal and making this dream a reality. I feel very fortunate to have been nominated for this opportunity and would be eternally grateful for your support in helping me attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering at the University of Michigan this summer.

Here's an excerpt about the NYLF: Engineering Summer Program - "At this eight-day program, you will learn why the core principles of engineering and problem solving are critical to innovation and success in the 21st century. You will receive invaluable information from industry experts and experience engineering careers through site visits, tours, and simulations, all of which will help you make informed choices about your future. Applying your engineering skills and creativity, you will also work to solve real-world problems during the program-long Capstone Impact Challenge."

The funds donated will be used to pay the cost of tuition, room/board, off-campus meals, transportation, and any other costs related to attending this program.

Hola, mi nombre es Emmanuel Salazar-Lira, soy un estudiante de noveno grado en Norwalk High School, donde estoy inscrito en clases de honores y a la vez tomando clases de colegio en Cerritos College como un estudiante de primera generación. Recientemente me invitaron a participar en el Foro Nacional de Liderazgo Juvenil: Ingeniería en la Universidad de Michigan este verano.
