This is my Emma. I am at a loss because I cannot help her. I cannot fix her so this is me doing what I can. She has been struggling for years with chronic illness. She is currently in Children’s and this recent stay has prompted her to start a YouTube channel and she is raising money for other sick kids. While most kids do not have what Emma has (Bc lucky her she is a “complex case”) she sees other sick kids and recognizes the impact of physical illness on mental illness. Her passion is editing and while she is bed ridden most of the time, youtube and online advocating is a great focus for her. She mentioned in her video that her editing takes a long time as she does not have a Mac, that it was possible to do it just took way longer. So my ask here is to try to raise money to buy this beautiful soul a Mac. Another way to help is by subscribing to her YouTube channel. She is trying to reach out to other you-tubers to promote her channel by looking for brand deals. In this recent stay (going on 3 weeks) she has gone through more than most of us have in our entire lives. 2 surgeries, transfusions, ultrasounds and uncountable pokes and prods, the list goes on. Her high anxiety and phobia of anything medical related and blood make it even more difficult for her to endure, but she has. Not always gracefully but she is who she is and she will never get used to this. And this is her life. Let’s try to bring a bit of joy into her life by enabling her to do something she loves more easily and help those other kids. Anything raised above the goal will be put into her RDSP-registered disability savings plan. Since Sept Emma has attended her grade 12 year only 2 months out of 8. We recognize that as she transitions into the work world, she will miss A LOT of work because of her health. Even when she looks well, she’s not feeling well, Bc her illness doesn’t get a lot of attention, it’s hard to understand. Her social life is hard as she has to constantly live like all of us have recently had to live. For her, that’s normal life. A life of isolation and fear yet she is one of the kindest hearted girls I know. She wanted to try to organize grad for kids in the hospital but with covid, everything is much more difficult. Anyways, let’s get this girl recognized and feeling amazing by making a difference. I love her like my own and if I could give her my organs I would, unfortunately it’s not that easy. This is all I could come up with. And.....to work for this, I will be running a marathon for her. If she can do all this, I can run for her. I have never run more that 21km so why not double that, enduring a fraction of the pain she does daily. Soooooooo I get a month to train, y’all have a month to help reach our goal. Deal?? #feelinghelplessauntie
