Please help Emma Jean Shubert

Hi Everyone ~

I am starting this fund for Amanda Shubert and her family (Chase – husband, Gage – 3 year old son and Emma Jean – 4 month old daughter). My name is Roxie Pillow and I am Amanda’s aunt. We are so close she is more like a daughter to me than my niece. You will also see updates from her G-maw (great grandma) Barbara. This has been a stressful year for the Shubert family emotionally and financially and they need our help.

Here is the condensed version regarding the Shubert family. Amanda is a neonatal intensive care (NICU) nurse. Chase started a new job in the middle of the pregnancy. During the pregnancy, Amanda needed to have multiple sonograms to check Emma’s growth and multiple triage visits. Amanda and Emma needed an emergency c-section, due to Emma having decels (drops in her heart rate) and low viability (little movement). She spiked a fever, tachypnea (breathing fast), tachycardic (fast heart rate), and had hypoglycemia (low blood sugar of 28). Labs looked horrible. Emma was taken to the NICU and received antibiotics for 11 days. The picture you saw above was taken on that 11th day right before they left the hospital.

Here is some history about Amanda and her caring heart towards others.

I realized Amanda at a young age always wanted to help others. The best story was at the age of 5 she was with her grandfather, my dad, who was visiting his mother at the hospital. My dad put Amanda up on the bed and she would try to feed my grandmother. Amanda noticed something was wrong so she jumped off the bed and ran down the hall looking for a nurse. She arrived at the nurse’s station and told them they needed to go help her grandmother. Amanda repeated and waited until they followed her back to the room. Her instincts served her well.  Helping others is what she does everyday. We would like your help to cover the medical expenses for Emma Jean Shubert.
