Hi everyone, for those of you that don't know her, our beautiful brave Emma Ellis was last year diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Although some versions of this particular type of cancer can be treated with chemo, radiotherapy and even surgery, Emma's is a particularly vicious form which has wrapped itself around the main artery into her pancreas, rendering it sadly inoperable.
After several rounds of fiercely aggressive chemo, there has been little progress, but there is hope, in something you may have heard of, Proton Beam Therapy.
Emma can access this in the U.S, but as with all things in private medicine, it comes with a huge cost of approximately £120,000.
We've also been given the potential option of specialist surgery but this is unfortunately unavailable in the UK and would also involve traveling to either Germany or the US.
Emma's friends and family are desperate to help in any way we can, and over the next few months will be starting some fundraising efforts including races, tough mudders, zip lines...you name it! But as you can imagine this total is a big mountain for us to climb.
But climb we must, because Emma is a much loved wife, sister, daughter, mum, sister in law, and friend, and she needs all of our help.
