Emma the Brave and Family

As many of you know, Emma the Brave has been fighting spinal cord cancer from the age of four, she is now 17. You may have watched her grow up and understand the anguish and pain Emma and her family have gone through. Unfortunately, they at another crossroads. Emma's tumor that was stable has grown, the chemotherapy isn't working, and the surgery they never wanted is at bay. With surgery to remove the tumor she will lose even more function - upper chest, hand and arm strength and maybe even breathing on her own. Her care will be 24 hours/7 days a week. This is devastating for this lovely girl who has fought everything with grace and being that she is an adult, Keri and Matt are leaving it up to Emma to make her own decision. The emotional toll on Emma will be great as her parents watch in anguish. What's more the financial burden is insurmountable with Matt leaving his job to care for Emma and now Keri using unpaid FMLA to be with Emma. What's more the family is hoping to get 2nd and 3rd opinions before taking such drastic measures. This may take them to New York and Mexico. They need help and if you can find it in your heart to contribute I know they would be so thankful.
