Help Emma see a specialist for drug induced injury

Hi, my name is Emma and I was prescribed a drug called mirtazapine - an incredibly powerful antidepressant - in May of this year for sleep problems. I was not informed of the risks or how difficult it would be to stop. By August I was suffering side effects, and my doctor informed me it would be safe to stop the medication. Due to the dangerous nature of cold turkey withdrawal, I reinstated on the advice of my doctor and the mirtazapine support community. I have not managed to stabilise since.

Each day I am plagued with akathisia, an inner restlessness and mental torture with an extremely high suicide rate. I also have tremors, jerking and noise sensitivity. I can no longer work or live a normal life.

To make matters worse, my doctor does not understand the drug, and I have been consistently gaslit by medical professionals. My last hope is to see a professional consultant on drug deprescribing, Dr. Mark Horowitz in the hope he can help my case.
