For those of you who know me well, know that I love where I work and the people I work with. One of my most treasured relationships in the office is with Emma; the one I call my kid sister. Though I'm old enough to be her mom, we are more like sisters when we're together. After school she often spends her time doing homework and sharing life with me, in my office. We even share clothes from time to time, just like real sisters. Recently Emma was accepted into the National Children's Chorus, and I am beyond proud and thrilled for her.
The National Children's Chorus is a private, non-profit organization, and one of the largest children’s choruses in the world. It has 700 choristers and its members are between the ages of five and eighteen, and divided into Junior Division and Senior Division across its three chapter cities - Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C.. Described as “one of the finest children’s choirs in the world today”, by conductor Grant Gershon, the chorus is noted for its refined choral sound, unique bicoastal structure, and esteemed music education and vocal training program, which empowers its members through ideals of artistic excellence, cultural openness, and social justice.
It's really a great joy for me to help raise the funds she needs to a part of this program. I've known Emma since she was born and can truly say she is one of the most remarkable young girls I have the privilege of knowing. As I see it, she is a world changer in the making. This is the generation, we are called to build up and nurture. Help me help her be a part of this wonderful opportunity she's been given.
