EmmaMae Heart journey
Ebstein’s anomaly is a rare congenital heart disorder occurring in ≈1 per 200, 000 live births and accounting for <1% of all cases of congenital heart disease.
Ebstein Anomaly is a defect of the tricuspid valve that effects nearly every aspect of efficient blood flow.
It comes with lethal dysrythmias from AFib to wolf-parkinsons-white.
Emma has been hospitalized 4 times in the last year for 5 or more days, due to Ebstein's rarety is difficult for even the best cardiologist who doesn't specialize in the complexity of EA to accurately determine the function of the heart.
She has been on holter monitors for over half of this year, however the electrical specialist failed to be able to establish a pathogen.
Sarah and Fermin ultimately had no choice but to seek the opinion of Emma's cardiac surgeon, whose specialty is EA, They live in Texas. EMMA'S specialist is at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. No One can be prepared when a Heart Surgeon tells a parent that he needs your child to arrive in just 2 weeks, and preferably sooner than later. Especially, not after spending so much time in the hospital. Ferm works full time to support the family . Sarah, stays home caring for Emma 24/7. Emma is my 4 year -old Neice. They need some help in paying for flights, travel, lodging as they travel to the Mayo Clinic. Emma is impending cardiac surgery. Any help would mean so much to our family. Thank you
