A Hospice for Drogheda. A Place of Comfort When It’s Needed Most
A hospice is much more than a building. It is a place of comfort, support, and dignity for people facing life-limiting illnesses. It is where pain can be managed with compassion; where families can find rest, understanding, and strength; and where precious moments can be shared without fear, alone, or in isolation. A hospice supports not only the person who is unwell, but the entire family, partners, children, parents, and friends, through one of the hardest times life can bring.
Right now, our community in Drogheda and surrounding areas does not have access to a dedicated hospice. There is one in the pipeline. Our aim is to help fundraise enough money to ensure this project has all it needs to open its doors to those who need it. Families are often forced to travel long distances at the worst possible moments, when comfort and proximity to home matter the most. The absence of a local hospice means extra strain on already overwhelmed hospitals, caregivers, added stress on families, and too many last days spent far from familiar surroundings and loved faces. We need to ensure this project happens as soon as possible.
