Melissa's Medical Journey

Hello, My name is Noël Crosby, and I am fundraising for my sister Melissa Stillman.

Melissa had breast cancer and a double mastectomy 14 years ago. She recovered from that but was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Along with this cancer, Melissa has had other unforeseen complications, with the worst being that she could not eat or swallow. She had to be in and out of the hospital for weeks because the doctors could not figure out what was causing these problems. She has had many procedures and tests as they were trying to find out what was wrong. She finally had to have a feeding tube put in, but this feeding tube was pushing against a nerve and causing her so much discomfort. So again, she had to go back to many doctors, and they had to remove the feeding tube and put another one in. During this ordeal, she hasn't been able to work.... so they are down to 1 paycheck, and they have many medical bills that are not covered by insurance... One pet scan, three cat scans, an MRI, rent increase and other miscellaneous bills. Melissa has stayed upbeat throughout this whole health journey and has tried to see the best in the situation and the humor in things. She has continued to smile and laugh even when she wanted to cry. I am asking for assistance for her because Melissa and her husband are struggling to pay these extra bills with only one income. If you ever met Melissa, you have met an extraordinary lady.. she makes you feel like you are unique and important. Melissa lives in her apartment with her husband Kevin and their cat Wally.
