It's amazing we've reached out initial target. Thankyou so much to all those who have donated so far. Any extra money will now go towards living costs for Sophia for her first month out of work (£2,000) and post op check ups (£1,000). Any money raised after this amount will be donated to a charity which we'll name here.

This crowdfund is for my dear sister, and inspirational being, Sophia Efthimiou.

Those close to Sophia may know that she has struggled with severe menstrual conditions throughout her life. 4 years ago she discovered numerous fibroids growing around her womb. She has tried various holistic approaches to shrink them, but they have grown to unmanageable sizes (one the size of a grapefruit, another an apple and a few more smaller ones). And so after much research and deliberation Sophia has decided to have surgery to remove them.

Having looked into the different options, including the possibility of a very long wait list with the NHS, Sophia has found a highly recommended surgeon in London that she trusts to do this intricate and invasive surgery. It will happen on 2nd February and take her out of action and off work for a couple of months.

The cost of the surgery is £15,000. We have decided to reach out to her community to ask for support in raising this money.

I know Sophia is deeply loved, and many people have been touched by her work and her heart, and may feel inclined to support her on this strong journey. Any amount you can offer is gratefully received towards this (potentially) life-changing procedure.
