Emily's Practice Recovery Fund

Hurricane Helene recently hit North Carolina very hard, leaving destruction in its wake. So many people and places we love have been profoundly impacted by this natural disaster in some way. Unfortunately, my office was located in one of the hardest-hit areas in Asheville and is now gone. What was once a soft, safe, and sweet landing spot is now an unrecognizable mess of metal and mud.

I love being a therapist and take my job very seriously. My clients and I enter the room ready for raw, honest, and reflective time together. I spent years gathering tools, furniture, art, books, art supplies, and more miscellaneous items to make my office feel like a comfortable place to be and it breaks my heart to know I will never see it as it was again.

I am asking for financial support in getting things back up and running. As a sole proprietor with disrupted income it is hard to imagine when things will look normal again, but I need assistance getting there so that my clients and I can share space to continue our work together. I am asking for donations for two purposes- to fund replacement items to help with rebuilding my office and to help me provide sliding-scale services to people in need of mental health support. I hope to help keep therapy available to anyone who needs support getting through this time together.

I am grateful that my family and home are safe and I am deeply appreciative of anything you are able to share as I work toward rebuilding.
