Emily's Path to Continued Sobriety: Help Rebuild
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Emily. I am a 39-year-old single mother in recovery from alcohol abuse. I was hospitalized from January to April due to complications from drinking and then in a nursing home from April to June learning to walk again. During my hospital stay, I lost my apartment of 11 years and all of its contents. I was able to abstain from alcohol during my medical stays but then relapsed a few months after. I am currently happily SOBER for over 4 months and intend to stay that way.
Currently, I am in a sober living transitional house, but my stay here is about to come to an end. I have been accepted into an Oxford house, but I haven't been able to work since January, so I have no income. I will be able to and allowed to work once I am living in the Oxford house. I am trying to raise funds for my entry into the Oxford house. I also need money for food until I am approved for EBT and to purchase the necessary items to move in (linens, pillow, toiletries, etc.), and also clothing for employment until I receive a paycheck. I am not one to ask for help, but I am in an emergency situation where I must pay the $500 deposit to hold my spot at the Oxford house. It is then $35 a day to stay. This is my next step in maintaining my sobriety and stability. I'm not only doing this for myself, but to build a healthy living environment for me and my 16-year-old daughter. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
