Emily's New Service Dog Goal:✅. Donate to SDA

Tax deductible
My name is Emily Donovan Manley.

My service dog, Tucker, lost his battle with a malignant brain tumor this year, and I need another trained service dog.

I am 25 years old, a graduate of Faulkner University, a wife, an artist, and a small business owner. All of this I accomplished with the help of my service dog, Tucker.

I live with so many disorders, most of which people have never heard of like Ehlers-Danlos which causes my joints to collapse without notice, Dysautonomia which effects breathing and causes dizziness and instability, Epilepsy which causes multiple seizures each day, and many others.

A service dog is not an option for me, it is a necessity. Tucker taught me that.

Tucker was my lifeline for seven years. He gave me independence, security, and support during the most difficult and painful times of my life. He also celebrated every joyous moment with me. Losing him meant loosing all that he provided to me and a huge piece of my heart.

Since his death, my quality of life and independence has decreased significantly. Even in the midst of my grief, I know I have to have another trained service dog to be able to live my life with independence and purpose.

My husband is a police officer. He is gone long hours every day, so I am all alone a lot of the time.

One day I was fixing dinner for my husband and Tucker came up to me and started whining and nudging to alert me for a seizure while I was chopping onions. If it had not been for Tucker, I would have hit the ground and seized with a sharp knife in my hand. I need a service dog to safely do even the smallest things.

Tucker has literally saved my life so many times, he would help me get up after a fall; he would brace his body so I could stabilize myself on him and not fall. He alerted to seizures and assisted in helping me recover. He helped me live my life. He taught me the value of having a trained service dog.

Service Dogs Alabama (who trained and gave me Tucker) has trained another service dog just for me. The Order of the Eastern Star has provided funding for me and Service Dogs Alabama is providing match money for my funding raising efforts.

So, when you give, it is worth double what you are giving to help me get the service dog I need so much!

Because of all of this support, I only need to raise $3,000.00. Please help me by giving.

I would be so grateful for a Happy New Year! Merry Christmas all! Thank you!
