Emily was diagnosed with Juvenile rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 2. During the last 26 years Emily has been on multiple medications and has seen multiple Dr’s to try and keep the Arthritis controlled as RA can affect so much more than just joints. RA can also affect Vision, lungs, respiratory system, heart and more. The past few years, Emily started to have issues with her hip and at times the pain was/is so severe it’s debilitating to try and perform her daily activities. The Dr prescribed injections to try to control the pain, as well as multiple steroids and pain medications. Emily started to see a new Rheumatoid arthritis dr a few months ago and that lead to her getting scheduled to see a surgeon after another Xray of her hips. The surgeon has agreed to take Emily as a patient and will be performing a Hip replacement on Emily, June 20th. Emily is the youngest patient this Dr will have ever done a Hip replacement on. We are extremely grateful that God led Emily to this Dr that is giving Emily the opportunity to live a life of less pain. During the recovery time, Emily will be off work (without pay) and has a $4000 deductible to meet for her insurance. Her family has started this Go Fund Me to help alleviate some of the financial burden during this time.
