A Young Mother’s Fight to Be There, Help Emily Heal
Donation protected
On September 14, 2024, Emily’s life—and the lives of everyone who loves her—changed forever.
While driving home from her nephew’s birthday party, Emily was in a devastating car accident. She was life flighted to OSU Hospital and placed in a coma, where she remained for over a month. Doctors gave her a 5% chance of survival.
But Emily beat the odds.
Now 27, Emily is slowly regaining awareness. She can communicate “yes” and “no” through eye gaze cards. She is alive, conscious—and fighting every day for a second chance at life.
Emily is a devoted mother of two young children—Tobias (2) and Amelia (8). She was a stay-at-home mom, a cheer coach for her daughter’s team, and deeply involved in her family’s daily life. Her world revolved around her kids. Her fiancé, James, has been her partner since high school, and together they built a life centered on love and family.
Due to the severity of her traumatic brain injury (TBI) and multiple brain bleeds, Emily is currently in a nursing facility. She cannot walk, speak, or move on her own. She urgently needs intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy—services her insurance no longer covers.
Why We Need Your Help Now
The window for recovery is critical. The sooner Emily receives therapy, the more likely she is to regain essential skills—movement, speech, independence—and the ability to return home to her children.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Immediate therapy sessions (speech, occupational, physical)
A modified wheelchair-accessible van so she can safely be transported to appointments and eventually home
Equipment and care support not covered by insurance
Every Share and Dollar Counts
Emily is fighting to be a mom again. Her children need her. Every step forward she takes is a miracle—and we’re asking you to help her take the next one.
Please donate if you can—and share this story with your community. Together, we can help give Emily the care and hope she deserves.
