Last year we received devastating news. We had just gotten our cookie shop, Dirty Dough, open for business. We sat patiently in the ER, waiting for news. After being taken back, and numerous scans and tests performed, my wonderful wife, Emily, was found to have acute appendicitis, stones in one kidney, and the other kidney appeared to be functioning at less than 10%. She had had stones removed the year before, but was unaware of any complications. We don't drink, and we don't eat particularly poorly, but somehow, her kidney was destroyed.
Emily and I have been working countless hours on making our business the best it can be. Emily is doing this on top of being a full-time Mom, (and a really good one at that), all while approaching her surgery day.
Later this month, she will have her bad kidney removed. We do not have enough of a need, nor the resources for a full transplant at this time, but this surgery by itself will take a lot out of us.
She will have a month of recovery at least, where she won't be able to work in our store. Medical bills. Increased payroll costs at our business. Incidental costs. And a lot of time lost. While family is doing everything that they can right now, we could really use the support of anyone willing to help us through this challenging time.
If we have ever blessed your lives, or made your day brighter, please consider giving a small donation to our GoFundMe at the link in the bio. Even $5 will change our lives if enough of you are willing.
Thank you,
Isaac Aldridge
