My name is Emily Scott. 3 years ago, with zero warning, I found out I was in Stage 4 Kidney Failure. My kidneys were so far gone that I immediately had to go on dialysis and have been on it ever since. Without dialysis, I would not be alive. Although it HAS kept me alive, it is not ideal. Not only is it not the best for my health, it is difficult for my daily life. It takes 4-5 hours out of every other day to be hooked to a machine, not able to leave the chair at a clinic (regardless of the weather) beginning before daylight. It also means that travel is difficult because of having to know at least 30 days in advance and finding a clinic that could host me. For this reason, our travel has been VERY limited. However, I have found a donor for a kidney transplant!! THIS is what is optimal for my overal health and quality of life!! We are on schedule to have the transplant around the first of February. The problem now comes in that my deductible w/my insurance will not have been met. My part will be close to $10,000. At almost the exact same time, my husband and I are having to move because of the land being sold where our home is. Over the past 3 months, we’ve had to close our Wedding Barn for the same reason. This Barn was my only source of income. With my health as it is,  I obviously can’t look for another job at this time.
